Chocolate Wreath - Sophie Cooks

Hey Whisperers,

It's that time of year where there's family get together, Christmas's parties, dinner parties.... aka the season of trying to find something to make that won't break the bank or take much time. Today i thought i would show you a really simple recipe for some cute chocolate wreaths, i came up with this idea a few weeks ago and i couldn't wait to try it out for you guys so i hope you enjoy!!

What you will need:

3 oz Corn Flakes
7 oz Plain Chocolate
Holly Sprinkles
Icing Sugar

Metal Spoon
Large Bowl
Small Bowl
Baking Tray
Grease-proof paper

Lets Bake

The first thing you're going to do is break up your chocolate into squares and microwave it in 30 second intervals until it is fully melted. Sir each 30 seconds with a metal spoon. I like to warm up my spoon under hot water so that it keeps melting the chocolate as i stir it instead of hardening it.

Once your chocolate is fully melted stir into the corn flakes, i also use a warm metal spoon for this just so the chocolate doesn't harden. I do also like to warm the bowl up before this step just so the chocolate doesn't harden as i shape the wreaths.

After all your chocolate is incorporated line a baking sheet with grease-proof paper and start to shape your wreaths. Now i found the best way to do this was to take pinches of the mixture and built it up into a donuts like shape.

When all of your wreaths are built up, add your holly to each wreath with a little bit of chocolate and sprinkle with icing sugar to give it a snowy look. I left some of mine without icing sugar but feel free to add it to as many or as little as you like!

Once your holly and snow is on put your baking tray into the fridge for the chocolate to harden. Once hardened transfer then to a plate and we're done!

I hope you've enjoyed this quick and easy baking post! If you re-create these chocolate wreaths don't forget to send me pictures on Twitter and Instagram!
