How I Edit My Blog Photos For Free

Hey Whisperers,

When i started blogging i had no clue how much editing my pictures would affect the quality of not only my posts but my overall blog. My images are by no means incredible, but i quite like how they look. When it comes to my blog i do keep things pretty simple with my pictures but i thought that this post would be a helpful one if you're just starting out and need some tips so i hope you enjoy!

How I Edit My Blog Photos

First things first is what i use to take my photos, i use my I Phone 6, it isn't the most incredible camera quality but for the budget that i have it works pretty well. I use natural lighting to take my photos too which isn't always the best especially during this time of the year. I use 2 different 'apps' to edit my pictures, the first is just the normal Windows Editor and the next is IPiccy.com an online website, each one does different things and i use them both equally. Both apps are completley free and work amazingly. IPiccy does restrict some tools on the website if you aren't a member but if you join up you get all of the tools and it's still 100% free!

Original Photo

Mascara:

I know this sounds strange but believe me it works. On IPiccy there is a 'beautify' option to add and enhance your makeup, every time i edit a picture i use this section so much. The first thing i use is the mascara tool, i use it on any text in the image and anything that i want to stand out, it pretty much just intensifies the text and makes it stand out more, which you definitely need when taking product pictures.

Teeth Whitening:

Another beauty tool that i use a lot is the Teeth Whitening tool, i use this tool to help whiten any dark background colours and to also make any white product labels to stand out. It doesn't always create a huge difference but it does look a lot better at the end.

Lip Colour:

I then move on to the Lip Colour tool, i love using this tool to make the colours pop more. In this image i used it on the green and pink stripes on the pencil and the mustard on the body scrub. It just adds that little extra to any picture, we all know pictures rarely portray the accurate colour of a product so this tool helps that so much.

Colour:

Even though i added extra colour using the lip tool i do like to also enhance the overall colour using the Windows edit option. I pretty much set it to the top setting every time i use it as it just makes everything in the image 10x more vibrant and makes it look incredible.

Brightness:

Using the edit option on Windows I go into the Light and Contrast tab and i increase the brightness. I usually keep it pretty low when brightening  my pictures as I've found that taking it too far just washes out the whole image. For me brightening my pictures is a big part of editing them as even with great natural lighting they're never bright enough. It is super easy to take it too far so i always prefer going little by little as you can come back later and increase it.

Before And After

My editing skills aren't the most incredible but i do spend quite a lot of time editing my pictures and i love reading post on how people edit their pictures. Being on a low budget using these 'apps' has been amazing for me. I know that sometimes being on a budget makes blogging hard but these 'apps' help make editing pictures 100x easier.

I hope that this post has helped you when it comes to editing your pictures!

Thanks For Reading,
Love,
Soph
